Accessibility

Our commitment

Blak'd Out is committed to making blakdout.com usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What we do

  • Semantic headings, landmarks and link text so pages can be navigated structurally.
  • Descriptive alternative text on artist photos, release artwork and brand imagery.
  • Labelled form fields on the demo submission and contact forms.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, menus and buttons with visible focus states.
  • High-contrast light text on a solid black background across the site.
  • Responsive layouts that support zoom and small screens without loss of content.

Known limitations

Some release pages embed third-party Spotify players. Those embeds are controlled by Spotify and their accessibility is outside our control, every embedded release is also listed as plain text with credits and a direct streaming link so the information is available without the player.
